Gillespie
County Historical Society Founders Day Festival 2006 will
be on Pioneer
Museum
This event has been a tradition of the Society since 1957 when members created an event to pay tribute to those early settlers in Gillespie County. The name of the event is linked to Founders Day May 8th, which is the official day county residents claim when Fredericksburg was first inhabited in 1846. Today the festival has grown to an all day event which has plenty of super family fun and activities. A full slate of German, Hispanic, band music, fiddling and other groups will take the stage to keep the atmosphere culturally charged all day long.
What about food and
beverage you say? We will have an authentic chuckwagon and World famous
Heritage Boyz cooking German sausage& Sauerkraut, we will
also have water, soda, beer, wine and best of all Elsie's
Country Store- selling a great selection of homemade goodies all
made by local citizens - just for this event. If have more
questions on the music, food or general activities of the festival
please
Admission
to the Founders Festival will be by donation only. The location of our
site is 309 W. Main St. |
