The Gillespie
County Historical Society has a section of our Society Center dedicated to
the storage of our non-exhibited collections and archives. We house
approximately 300,000
photographs/negatives, 1000 antique woodworking
tools, 500 newspapers, 200 textile pieces, and various assortment of
furniture, paintings, domestic artifacts, sporting trophies, swords, guns,
and much, much more.
We
currently have over 8000 database records and over 2000
images digitized.
Our
mission is to collect, preserve and exhibit materials related to the
history of Gillespie Co. and surrounding area. We are pleased to assist
