The Gillespie County Historical Society offers three major type of
tours. Our German Meal Tour, Custom Home Tours and school museum tours.
Our German Meal
Tour is a program where our
guests come to tour the Pioneer Museum/Vereins Kirche and then enjoy a
homemade German meal prepared by our local volunteers and served either in
our Social Hall or out on the grounds of the Pioneer Museum. We even add
evening entertainment for those who want to waltz a little after dinner.
Our Custom Home
Tour is a program where we create an itinerary
of various local homes, churches
and points of interest, all shaped to meet the
needs of your group. Many times groups add the German Meal to this and we
enjoy doing that.
Our School
tours bring students to our Pioneer Museum, Vereins Kirche and Ft.
Martin Scott. We also custom shape the itinerary to fit the time limitations and
curriculum needs of the individual class. We encourage all grades K-12,
Junior Colleges, and four year colleges to take advantage of our
sites. We feel we provide an opportunity to
teach across a broad spectrum.
Current tour
prices :
Meal Tour : Cost
is $15.00 per person. Minimum group size is 15. We allow two comps per
group. We request at least 30 day advance notice, with a 50% deposit upon
booking.
Custom Home
Tour:
Cost starts at $ 20.00 per person but is totally shaped to the scope of
the itinerary and if a meal is included.
School
Tours : For
students who come from outside the Fredericksburg ISD
Grades K-12 : $ 3.00 per student.
Regular Museum
Group Tours: 1-15 people $ 3.00, for groups of 16 and larger : $ 2.50
